You Are A Small Prophet...

Hello Reader,

Over the last few weeks me and my family have been watching the British TV series, Small Prophets. I'm sure many of you will have watched it but the premise is that the main character grows three 'small prophets' - mystical creatures called Homunculi - that have to tell the truth when asked a question.

It occurred to me when lying awake in the night (as I often do) that we all have, or more accurately, Are, those small prophets. In other words, we don't need something external to us to give answers to questions we have. We are the Knowing of the answers (and the questions) itself.

How do I know that? Well, I've spent a long time putting it to the test, exploring what's actually true, in direct experience, rather than in what's known within thoughts and beliefs. And you can explore and test what's true for yourself too by working through the experiments in my first book, The Truth Beyond Thought.

As a human, you have all five senses to experience life through AND there is a formless, unknown aspect that knows the experiencing of all of it; that knows of all thoughts, beliefs, sounds, smells, sights, smells and tastes. Sometimes I refer to that as intuition, sometimes as life, sometimes as aware.

What's clear to me is that there is something that moves this body-mind that is nothing to do with its consciousness, or thought. It's far more intelligent than that. It's not an intelligence that can be acquired or learnt, or known. It is what moves the birds to fly south for the winter and the bulbs to sprout and grow when the weather warms up.

In my ongoing Intuition Experiment I notice every day how life unfolds without 'my control'. By that I mean, there is an idea of 'me' here that is made up of a collection of beliefs and stories (simply thoughts) which thinks it knows the answers to things and thinks it's in control. In reality, this mind-body is simply moving according to the 'programming' it has acquired (aka what it has learnt and been told is true).

As I pointed out a few weeks ago, if I had grown up in India I would operate at a general level, very differently than I do, because of what culture and society would have taught me. Without the 'programming' - in other words all the ideas, thoughts and beliefs, life simply flows and thrives. Take a look in nature to see how that works.

So for me, rather than get caught believing every thought, I'm noticing more and more the fact of thought, and not getting drawn into the content of it. It's a constant desire for truth and freedom that drives this.

My book/journal The Intuition Experiment, is an invitation to pause at least once daily and connect to what is before thought.

It presents the questions 'what do you want/what would you love, or what do you know, right now?' as a starting point for the exploration.

Those in my community say that the pause is enough for different actions to arise and I find that for myself.

As I always say, if we want something different in life we have to be willing to do something differently. And that, to me, looks like being willing to step away from the hypnosis of thought and be curious enough to explore what happens.

I know, it isn't easy! After all, our whole lives we've been listening to, and following what thought tells us. But I ask myself the question, and I ask you too...where has it got you?

What would life be like if you turned away from thought more often and listened to what is known (intuition, life, aware) instead?

What if you have all the answers (even if that is to ask someone for an answer!)?

What if there is nothing wrong, nothing missing and nowhere to get to?

What if all of those things are simply ideas that society and culture has burdened you with?

What if you are, in fact, a little prophet?!

Or, in the words of Jack Pransky, what if:

"All we are is peace, love and wisdom, and the power to create the illusion that we are not."

Until next time, happy experimenting.

Lots of love,

Vicki

Upcoming events

Monthly Topsham, Devon Meetup

We meet on the last Monday of every month to explore living from the 'heart' rather than the 'head', what's true and other such topics.

Mindful/Intuitive Art Retreat

Again I'm joining Lucy Sheffield to create a long weekend of connecting to nature and following intuition to paint and create in a field in Devon. There are a couple of spaces left. If you'd like one you can find out more here.

Ways To Work With Me

The Intuition Experiment Community

This is my new supportive monthly membership that you can join and leave at any time, to explore living more from intuition (or 'true self') than from conditioned, habitual thoughts. It's where I'm most active in supporting individuals to live a free-er life outside of my 1:1 work. If you find yourself wanting to live life differently, then join this lovely small community to transition to a new paradigm. One where more ease and flow is available, more of the time. Full details here.

1:1 Coaching/Mentoring

I have space for a couple of people in my 1:1 work. If you'd like more personalised support to live a life of freedom then book a free exploratory call to see if we might be a good fit to work together. The call itself may be enough to move you forward...
