The Power of Belief & An Invitation To Pause...

Hello Reader,

Next week I'm off to India to spend 10 days with Salvadore Poe exploring what is True through direct self-enquiry.

These days it seems to be my main interest...rather than fall into believing things; to look and actually see what's true for myself. And that is the invitation to everyone I work with, either in my new membership community, The Intuition Experiment Community, or in 1:1 sessions.

We are all very used to operating from beliefs. And it's completely innocent. We are told things when we are young and we accept them as Truth's. However, it is very easy to see how these 'Truth's' vary depending on where you grow up, or even what family you grow up in.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to experience some different 'Truth's' in India where driving on any side of the road is OK provided you beep your horn; and queuing is entirely unnecessary!

What beliefs you operate from, will depend upon the experience you have of life. After all, a thought that is believed, is also felt in the body, and this then dictates how you behave. I've created an audio track on Insight Timer about this.

Some beliefs can be 'helpful', and they feel 'good'. Others are not so 'helpful', and feel 'bad' (like 'I'm not good enough', 'there's something wrong (with me)' - two that come up in almost every conversation I have with people). In actuality, all beliefs are simply thoughts that have been thought a lot, and I am becoming more interested in what knows of those thoughts, than in the content of the thoughts themselves. That is where true freedom lies.

As I walked my dog this morning between heavy showers, under a heavy grey sky, I was reminded of the last long haul flight I did; to New Zealand, to say a last goodbye to my dying dad.

Before the trip a curiosity arose around the idea of 'jet lag' and I decided to put it under scrutiny. What I discovered was that when the belief in 'jet lag' was not given fuel (ie conscious attention), it had no power. And indeed, I didn't experience jet lag at all.

And so it leaves me to invite you to a pause. To notice where your conscious attention is right now and to get curious about how that is creating your experience (and whether, when not paid attention to, a different experience is available).

If you'd like to be invited to pause more often, to connect to what exists beyond thought, and to live more from that space (intuition), then please do join my community of likeminded individuals. There is no minimum commitment and you'll be offered the space to simply Be, and to see what comes from there.

Upcoming Ways To Connect

Inperson Monthly Meetings In Topsham, Devon

On the last Monday of every month, between 12.30pm - 2pm, I hold a space for people to come together and explore wellbeing. If you are in Devon and would like to come along let me know and I'll send over the details.

Art Retreat, May

In May I will be back in Amy Rogers' incredible campsite, Hideaway, in Devon, with Lucy Sheffield to explore connecting with nature and what gets created from there. It's three beautiful days of space, peace, connection and flow. You don't have to be an artist or have any artistic talent to come along. It's all about experimenting and allowing, connecting to feelings and emotions and allowing them to be expressed on paper or canvas. All materials and food are provided. For more details and to book click here.

Finally, I have a couple of spaces for 1:1 coaching if you'd like to see more deeply what is holding you back from a life of peace and ease.

Until next time, lots of love and happy experimenting,

Vicki Montague
